Lesson 4

Rules Specific to Synthesizer or Person

Lesson 4 of 8

The word "beta" is spoken by most people outside of the United States as "beetah." In this exercise use the JAWS Dictionary manager to change the pronunciation for the way the English British or Australian Vocalizer Expressive synthesizers pronounce the word "beta."

If you would like to install one of the Vocalizer Expressive synthesizers prior to beginning this lesson do the following:

  1. Open the JAWS Options submenu, and then select the Voices submenu.
  2. Choose Add/Remove Voices. The Add/Remove Vocalizer Expressive Voices dialog box opens, allowing you to play samples and install or remove voices.

Please allow [04:58] to watch the following instructional demonstration on Dictionary Rules that are Specific to a Synthesizer or Person before continuing to the next topic.
