ZoomText Mac users may have experienced a random loss of tracking and the Cursor Enhancement being mistakenly displayed. This issue has been fixed.

ZoomText Mac users may have noticed a giant Cursor Enhancement being displayed on screen while using arrow keys to move through items such as images in an email. This issue has been fixed.

ZoomText Mac users may have noticed issues when scrolling through embedded lists, such as in Safari. Prior to this fix, when scrolling a page, ZoomText continued to track back to the cursor position within the list, which made scrolling difficult.

ZoomText Mac’s magnified view will now move fluidly when tracking to areas of interest. Previously, this motion was very abrupt; with the new smooth panning, the more fluid motion will provide you with a more comfortable magnification experience.

ZoomText Mac users may have noticed issues when clicking on text in Safari web pages. ZoomText would previously continue to track to the cursor position when scrolling a page.

ZoomText Mac users may have noticed that ZoomText would jump back to the currently selected item when scrolling through a list, such as their inbox in Mail. This behavior has been corrected.

ZoomText Mac users were previously unable to run ZoomText if other displays were enabled. Now, users with multiple displays can run ZoomText, with magnification just on the primary desktop.

Image of Bug Fix WebReader Browser button enabled if Safari window was closed
ZoomText Mac users may have experienced issues where the Browser button in WebReader was enabled (or the “Read from Browser” menu item) when Safari was running but the window was closed. This behavior has been fixed.

ZoomText Mac users may have experienced an issue where the WebReader window would take up most of their screen when clicking the Shrink/Expand button. This issue has been fixed.

ZoomText Mac users may have experienced tracking issues when running applications in full screen mode, such as Safari (the address bar was not being tracked to). This issue has been fixed.

ZoomText Mac users may have experienced a crash when their computer returned from sleep mode. This issue has been fixed.

In the future (post version 1.1.3), ZoomText Mac users will no longer experience the update progress window obscuring the view of the installation wizard.

Tracking improvements have been made to ensure that Mouse users have a more fluid experience when using ZoomText Mac to navigate around menus and load webpages in Safari.

The Focus Enhancement was being drawn incorrectly, sometimes drawing a box around an entire menu or webpage window when it should have been elsewhere. This behavior has been corrected.

ZoomText Mac users were previously unable to run ZoomText and QuickBooks together. This issue has been fixed.

Chrome users may have experienced a crash when using the Autofill feature to complete forms. This issue has been fixed.

Image of Bug Fix Fixed an issue with Mac Zoom disabling ZoomText’s hotkeys
ZoomText Mac users who had also enabled the built-in Mac Zoom may have gotten into a state where ZoomText’s hotkeys no longer functioned properly. This issue has been fixed.

A memory leak was discovered for Mavericks users, potentially resulting in very high memory utilization of the “windowserver” process. This issue has been fixed.

ZoomText Mac now includes a friendly alert system called “ZoomText News” which keeps you informed with important product information, special offers, and other announcements from Ai Squared.

Focus Echo would previously not speak aloud changes to a checkbox or slider state until the user manually moved the focus back to the item via the keyboard. This problem has been fixed.

ZoomText Mac now has more options listed in the application menu. You can also now exit the program, open ZoomText News, bring up Accessibility Privacy Preferences, check for updates, and more.

ZoomText Mac now includes a Focus Echo feature that automatically reads text information from the current active control, text fields, menu items, or buttons.

ZoomText Mac now includes a Mouse Echo feature that will read text information that’s underneath the mouse pointer.

ZoomText Mac now includes a reading tool called WebReader, which allows you to extract just the important information from a busy webpage. It will also read all the text in an application window (for instance, an email message), or any text in your clipboard.

ZoomText Mac no longer requires users to logout or reboot their computer after installing the product.

A memory leak was found in one of ZoomText Mac’s processes. This issue has been fixed.

Users of ZoomText Mac may have experienced a system crash when using the arrow keys to navigate through editable combo box items, such as a font control; leaving ZoomText in an irrecoverable state. This issue has been fixed.

Image of Bug Fix Hotkeys are now correctly released after ZoomText Mac is closed
Third party applications that used the same hotkeys as ZoomText Mac will now function properly. Previously, these hotkeys would be ignored, even if ZoomText was not running. This issue has been fixed.

Trial users of ZoomText Mac may have received an error message asking them to check the date and time of their machine (even though the date and time were correct), and were not allowed trial days. This problem has been fixed.

ZoomText Mac now includes updated localizations for Dutch, English, French, German, Portuguese (Brazilian), Spanish, and Swedish. Users can switch languages via the “Languages & Text” settings in System Preferences. Note, you will need to restart ZoomText in order to load a new language.

ZoomText Mac is now available as a 30-day trial for those using the Mavericks (OS X 10.9) operating system.

ZoomText Mac has improved its tracking algorithms when navigating menus, or when moving the mouse towards the very top edge of the screen.

The ZoomText Preferences panel was appearing on screen after every launch when running an activated copy of ZoomText Mac. This problem has been fixed.

ZoomText Mac now includes a free trial of WebReader, a powerful and easy to use reading tool for the web. WebReader extracts just the important information from a webpage and reads it aloud in friendly, high quality voices that are already built into the Mac. The WebReader tool can also read aloud any text placed in the clipboard. WebReader is free to try until October 31, 2013 at which time it will become a paid-for feature.
