Freedom Scientific Document Camera Driver (FSCamDSBridge) for KNFB Reader and other Third-party Video Apps
FSCamDSBridge is a file that must be installed on your computer to use Freedom Scientific document cameras and video magnifiers with third-party Windows video applications. It is a background service that allows the software to recognize your camera or magnifier. For example, after you install the file, you can select and use PEARL as your document camera with the KNFB Reader for Windows 10 app. When running Fusion or ZoomText software, you can select PEARL and use it to magnify books, magazines, and other documents. And with Fusion's OCR feature, you can use PEARL as your OCR camera.
The ONYX Portable HD and TOPAZ XL HD video magnifiers can be used as webcams with third-party video software such as Skype™ and Google® Hangouts. With the ONYX Portable HD, you can rotate the camera to its self-view position to video chat with friends or coworkers. With either the ONYX Portable HD or the TOPAZ XL HD, you can place objects under the camera to stream and share images with others.
To install FSCamDSBridge, do the following:
Note: Before you start, disconnect any document cameras or video magnifiers from your computer.
- Download and save the FSCamDSBridge file to your computer using a link at the end of this procedure.
- Choose the file and run its installer.
- When the installation is complete, connect your Freedom Scientific camera or magnifier to your computer. Refer to the Freedom Scientific user guides for information about hardware connections.
- Run your software and select the Freedom Scientific document camera or video magnifier as your camera. Refer to your software's online help if you need help selecting a camera.
